Kästner Kaleidoskop

The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata is hosting a three-day event from September 19 to 21 for 11- to 17-year-old German language learners and educators from our partner schools. The event aims to present Erich Kästner's works in a diverse and creative manner.

Program Overview

• Interactive Workshops: Participants will engage in workshops featuring games, reflections, and creative activities focused on key themes such as friendship, teamwork, freedom, and courage from Kästner's works.
• Artistic Workshops: There will be opportunities to take part in theatrical readings and illustration workshops that bring Kästner's texts to life.
• Film Screenings and Discussions: Films based on Kästner's books will be screened, followed by discussions on their interpretation and significance.
• Exhibition Kaleidoskop: Explore the life and work of Erich Kästner through pictures, quotes, infographics, puzzles, and digital tools in our exhibition.

Additionally, a special professional development session for educators will be held on the second day to provide new teaching strategies.

The workshops will be led by specialists from Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, featuring experts in art, literature, German language, and mental health, to provide a well-rounded and enriching experience.

The event is by invitation and is specifically designed for students and educators from our partner schools.
