A dedicated teacher as well as performer,
Wendy Case has been actively involved in training the next generation of violinists for over fourteen years. Her current teaching projects include two seminars, the first involving a series of short masterclasses on Physics and Advanced Violin Technique, and the second, a brief course on Teaching from the Right Side of the Brain. In November 2016 Ms. Case released the premiere recording of Joshua Rodriguez’s
Sonata No.1 for violin and piano in addition to Schubert’s beloved three Sonatinas for Violin and Piano. Her studies include degrees from the University of Michigan, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Stony Brook University.
Violist
Kirsten Docter was a First Prize winner of the Primrose International and American String Teachers Association Viola Competitions. She served on the juries of Primrose International Viola, the Fischoff National Chamber Music and the Sphinx Competitions. Ms. Docter has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman, Jaime Laredo, Alisa Weilerstein, Stephanie Blythe, Nathan Gunn, Alessio Bax as well as members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, Takács, Emerson, Borodin, and Amadeus String Quartets. She can be heard on the Azica, New World and Gasparo Records labels. Ms. Docter is Associate Professor of Viola at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
Amir Eldan performs as a soloist, chamber musician and as guest principal cellist. In 2011-12, he served as Principal Cellist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra by invitation from
Zubin Mehta. He was the youngest member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York, when he won the position of Associate Principal Cellist at the age of twenty-two. Mr. Eldan was appointed to the faculty of the Oberlin Conservatory in 2006 and currently serves as director of the Strings Department. Mr. Eldan holds a Doctor of Music degree and Master of Music degree, both from the Juilliard School where he also served as a guest teacher.
Jennifer Heemstra, professional pianist and entrepreneur, has recently been awarded the Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad from John Kerry for her concert series in India. In 2014 she founded a trust called the Kolkata Classics Club which provides health services for trafficked women, educates children from the slums to the elite and exposes the citizens of Kolkata to high quality, western classical music. Since its inception she put on 62 concerts and performed for and worked with over 59,000 adults and children. Ms.Heemstra earned her Master of Music from The Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University.
