A musical evening by two talented young musicians from the city.

Vani Dugar

Vani Dugar, a student of Economics at St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, started learning piano from the age of seven at the Calcutta School of Music. In 2018 she completed her Diploma in Musical Performance under the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music, London. Vani continues her musical education. She has been a winner of several prizes in different competitions including the Governor’s Trophy of the Calcutta School of Music.

Vani Dugar will be performing:
  • J.S.BACH: PRELUDE AND FUGUE in G minor
  • BEETHOVEN: SONATA NO.5 in C minor Op 10 No 1
  • SCHUBERT: IMPROMPTU Op. 90 D 899
  • GERSHWIN: I GOT RHYTHM
  •                       THE MAN I LOVE

Mohana Saha

Mohana Saha, a class XII student of the Modern High School Kolkata, started learning recorder in school band while she was nine years old. As her talent became apparent Mohana was introduced to Indian flute. Since last six years she has been taking formal lessons. As a flautist Mohana has won medals and trophies in many intra-school and inter school events. She has also performed in a few public events. Along with flute, Mohana also learns cello.

Mohana Saha will be performing:
  • Vande Mataram (Bankimchandra)
  • Raga Kafi 
  • Kotobar bhebechhinu (Tagore)
  • Raga Hansadhwani

The programme is presented in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Kolkata and is by invitation only.

However, limited invitation cards will be available at the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Kolkata to be collected only from 7 August 2019 from 10 am to 6 pm on a first come first served basis.
