An evening of conversation between Friedrich Ani and Sandip Roy



Friedrich Ani

Friedrich Ani, born in Kochel am See in 1959, writes novels, poems, books for young people, radio plays and screenplays. His novels have been translated into 10 languages and have won numerous awards. He has received the German Crime Fiction Prize seven times and has been awarded the Adolf-Grimme-Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize and the Golden Romy for his screenplays, among others. His novel "Der namenlose Tag" was voted one of the ten best international crime novels of the year and was filmed by Oscar winner filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff. Other publications include: "Die Raben von Ninive" (poems), the crime novels "Ermordung des Glücks," "All die unbewohnten Zimmer", "Letzte Ehre" (all published by Suhrkamp). Friedrich Ani is a member of the International PEN Club. He lives in Munich.


Sandip Roy

Sandip Roy is a writer, radio host and columnist in Kolkata. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, The Times of India, Firstpost and other publications. His audio dispatch from Kolkata airs weekly on public radio in San Francisco. He is a columnist for Mint Lounge and hosts the Sandip Roy Show on Audio Express. His award-winning first novel is ‘Don’t Let Him Know’.
