CHAAT MEETS…Science and Spirituality in a Growing Urgency is a day-long event that brings back the seminal work Art Meets Science and Spirituality in a Changing Economy (AmSSE 1990) by Fluxus artist Louwrien Wijers; with the help of a ‘Paani-Puri Game’ and the exploration of a collective safe space in dialog and exchange.

The project hopes to erupt certain truths through the coordinated digestion of complexities.

AmSSE created in 1990 is a ‘Mental Sculpture’, which consisted of 5 panel discussions conducted over 5 days in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The panels brought together eminent artists, scientists, spiritual leaders and members of the economic community together to discuss the nuances of our world view and the raising problematics of our planetary condition as a result of Louwrien’s immaterial art practice.

The Chaat Meets… game is an attempt to translate this complex and thought provoking art work through film screenings, food, playful imagination and soft coercion.

Bringing back a slice of potent time from the past, this work points to the relevance of the knowledge produced through the conference AmSSE as a dynamic conversation starter.

Chaat Meets… is a segment of Shraddha’s larger body of work ‘Garb-Age’ a multidisciplinary platform that scavenges in the trash piles of human existence - value, meaning and diamonds in the dust through art, pedagogy and social innovation.
