Heads in the Cloud is an interactive, site-specific, augmented reality-based work. It is designed to question our notions of viewing and experience of space in our everyday lives.

Gadgets and technological tools are supposed to bridge the gap between time and space, but our growing dependency on these gadgets and technologies are moving us further from the immediate, tangible world and pushing us towards a virtually stimulated life. In this project, Awdhesh will be using the smartphone habits of the viewer  together with virtually simulated reality to highlight the gap between our habitual, automatic, simplistic understanding of the spaces we inhabit and the complex, multiple realities of those spaces, thereby compelling the viewer to ask  themselves how and what  they is looking at.

The viewer will be directed to instantly download an app on their phone. There will be images and objects in multiple locations on the campus of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, which, when viewed through the app, will lead to a virtually simulated reality prompting questions about the experience of viewing.

  • To experience the work viewers should carry their smartphone.
  • There will be instructions relating where to download, how to install, and how to use the app.
