The Dictionary of Nonsense is project that is going to occupy the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan as an exhibition within which a series of events are going to take shape. Each letter of the word Nonsense has been further expanded with eight selected words. Between 19-22 February, each day, two words will be explored.

Eleutheromania will be celebrated with a workshop for children facilitated by artists Ajit Kumar, K. Deepika, A. Kameshwaran, Krishnapriya C.P, Narendran. K, Priyadharshini, G. Ramamoorthi and Shikha Srinivasan.

Sonification
will be interpreted by sonifying data on environmental crisis and interacting with Pradip Krishen, an author and environmentalist.

Optophobia
will be challenged with a screening Darbar-e-Watan (48 mins) by Uma Chakravati, historian and film maker. Followed by a discussion about the film with Anubhuti Maurya, also a historian.

Nescience
will be illuminated by a discussion with A.S. Panneerselvan, a journalist, Rajan Kurai Krishnan, a film scholar, Rohit Azad and Dipa Sinha both economists.

Semantics
will be explored through a workshop with art students on language and meaning building. This workshop will be facilitated by artists Ajit Kumar, K. Deepika, A. Kameshwaran, Krishnapriya C.P, Narendran. K, Priyadharshini, G. Ramamoorthi and Shikha Srinivasan.

will be investigated by presenting a fictitious disease of violence and intolerance. This will be further expanded over a discussion with Y.S. Alone, Buddhist scholar and Bezwada Wilson, an activist.

will be healed through conversations and cooking with Chris Mary Kurian, home cook and public health researcher, Madhura Lohokare, anthropologist and Prajakta Dhulap, journalist. Deepak Chaulan, Moonga Ram and Ram Singh will also be sharing their jalebi making skills and stories on migration.

will be dramatised by Siddhant Sunder as a standup performance, exploring his “self” and identity within the larger scheme of things.
