The project will lead to an exhibition, opening 26th/27th September 2025. Rather than a culmination, this is a further step on our journey, learning about global modernisms and, more specifically, bringing Prabhakar Barwe and Paul Klee into a dialogue. Hosted at the Zapurza Museum of Art and Culture in Pune, it will show their collection of Barwe’s paintings and sculptures, as well as high quality facsimiles produced by our project partner Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern, Switzerland.
Klee’s works are too fragile to be shipped as originals - a great chance to remember how artists from different countries and continents learned about each other's work during the 20th century, when magazines and photocopies were the main source of exchange.
The exhibition will be activated for the whole duration of the show, with activities for families and adults, events, and workshops.
