Contact and Enrolment

Please select and duly fill the appropriate registration form. 
Regular courses are designed for adult learners. Participants must be at least 16 years of age and a proof of age should be furnished at the time of registration.
2.1:       The contractually binding course fee is the fee stated in the price list at the time of registration.
2.2:      The course fee is to be paid in full at the time of registration. Fees may be paid by Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Max Mueller Bhavan Pune" payable at Pune. Misspelt/overwritten/hand corrected demand drafts will not be accepted. No part payment is accepted.
2.3:      The cost of the book is not included in the course fee. Text books of the respective levels can be purchased on the first day of the class or before the beginning of the course.

3.Each level ends with a central examination of the Goethe-Institut. The examination fees are given in the examinations table. Details about the examinations are given on our webpages under Examinations.

4.Course Registration
Registration procedure for Elementary level A1 till C1 levels is Online only.
The Online Portal opens at: 09.00 hrs on the E- Application date.
4.1        Step 1: On the E-Application date candidates are requested to register for the course using the online portal only.
Step 2: Selected candidates will be intimated through the registered e-mail ID on the confirmation mail date.
Step 3: The following documents are mandatory for registration and have to be produced on the payment date:
• Copy of confirmation e-mail
• 1 Stamp size photo
• A copy of Aadhar card or Passport
• Course fee in Demand Draft.
4.2.      Receipt /Student ID will be given to all the participants at the time of registration.
4.3       ID CARDS
ID Cards will be issued/ stamped at the time of registration. Please bring a stamp size photograph for the same. The ID cards are valid only for the duration of one course as per stamp.

5.1:       Course level Eligibility criteria
A2:  Start Deutsch 1 certificate
B1: Goethe Zertifikat A2 certificate
B2.1: Goethe Zertifikat B1 – Minimum 3 modules
B2.2: minimum 80% attendance in B2.1 level (there is no exam after B2.1 level)
Without clearing the B1 with all 4 modules internal candidates cannot appear for B2 Zertifikat at the end of the course.
C1.1: Goethe Zertifikat B2
C1.2: minimum 80% attendance in C1.1 course (there is no exam after C 1.1 level)
C2 Certificate of passing the Goethe-Zertifikat C1
5.2:       For external candidates: Certificate of previous level of examination is mandatory.
5.3:       For all internal and external candidates if the previous certificate is older than six months and not older than 2 years the candidate has to appear for a placement test separately to qualify for the further level.
6. Course level assignment /Class size
6.1:       Those who have prior knowledge of German or students with a gap of more than six months from their last exam and desiring to join the next higher level courses have to appear for a placement test prior to registration. Placement in course levels is based on the result of the placement test conducted by the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune. This placement test will be conducted between 09:00 to 11:00 hrs on the date mentioned by the Language department. Fee for the placement test is Rs. 1,000/-.
6.2:       Generally our courses have minimum 20 and at most 24 participants for the levels A1 to B1 and minimum 12 and at most 20 participants for the levels B2 to C2. In case of insufficient enrollment on the starting date, the institute reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course. In this case, participants will be offered the opportunity to move to another course or to receive a full refund of the course fee.
6.4:       Participation certificates will be issued to candidates who have an attendance of more than 75% for the enrolled course. (below 75% are External). For B2.1 and C1.1 80% attendance is necessary.
6.5:       Internal students who do not take up the examination on the prescribed date after the course completion, will be considered as ‘‘External Candidates’’ for exam registration on later dates.
We request you to cooperate with your fellow classmates and participate actively in the class. This will ensure your success in learning German. Our staff is always willing to help you and guide you. We request you to cooperate with our staff members and follow the instructions given by security personnel for parking your vehicle.

In case you are not satisfied about the teaching, firstly please talk to your class teacher. If you require further help, please discuss with Language department.
7:Cancellations, refunds and change of batch
7.1:       In case of cancellations five working days prior to the start of the course, the course fee shall be refunded 90% per course level. 10% will be deducted for administrative charges.
7.2:       In case of cancellation made in the last five working days before the course starts, only 50% of the total course fee shall be refunded.
7.3       Cancellations must be submitted in writing with the original ID card to the Language Department using the contact addresses indicated in the registration card.
7.4:       After the commencement of the course there is no possibility for a refund or adjustment of fee, irrespective of whether the student has attended any class or not.
7.5:       Should the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune cancel a course, 100% course fee shall be reimbursed.
7.6:       Change of batch is not possible once the registration is completed.
7.7:       Refund requests for 2019 must be submitted in written form latest by 10th December 2019.

8.1:       Examination fee in INR for year 2019 is given in a separate table in the prospectus.
8.2:       The examination fee has to be paid separately on the exam registration dates as per the schedule.
8.3:       Internal candidates have to bring their Receipt /Student ID, the prescribed exam fee on the scheduled dates, failing which the candidates have to appear as external candidates.
8.4.       Guidelines for External candidates
Online Portal opens at: 09:00 hrs on the E- Application Date (Separate date as per examination level for A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1)
Step 1: On the E-Application date candidates are requested to register for the examination using the online portal.
Only one form per candidate is valid. Multiple registrations automatically cancel the candidacy.
Step 2: Candidates will be selected on a first come first served basis and will be intimated through the registered e-mail ID on the confirmation mail date.
Step 3: The following documents are mandatory for registration and have to be produced on payment date.
• Copy of confirmation e-mail (paper or on mobile)
• 1 passport size photo
• A copy of Passport or Aadhar card (as mentioned by the candidate in the E-Registration form)
• Course fee in Cash or DD
Candidates who have received a confirmation mail can send their documents through courier on or before the mentioned date. The institute reserves all rights to reject the application for Missing documents /incorrect documents/ documents received after the prescribed courier date.
8.5:       Special arrangements can be made in the case of participants with special needs provided appropriate proof of the need is documented at the time of exam registration.
8.6:       No refund / transfers or adjustment of the examination fee is possible.
8.7:       Internal Candidates: Examination certificates have to be collected from the Institute with 2 weeks of result announcement.
External Candidates: Examination certificates will be sent only through courier. Examination certificates will be dispatched within seven working days after the announcement of the examination result. If the candidate fails to fill the application, Institute will not be responsible for the certificate.
8.8:       In case corrections have to be made to the certificates, a fee of Rs. 1,500/- will be charged.
8.9:       Viewing of Exam Papers: The results of the exam may be viewed by the candidates on the mentioned day and date by the exam department, which cannot be preponed or postponed. The candidates can come directly to the institute on the given day to the language department, pay a fee of Rs. 1000/- and then go through the paper.
The Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune may reject requests that are based on unsatisfactory reasons. The papers can be viewed only by the candidate.
8.10:     Grievances regarding examinations can be addressed to the Examination department through Email to

9.1:       The liability of the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune also accepts no liability for the cancellation of services due to force majeure (e.g. Natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).

Once you have decided about the course timing of your choice, we request you to fill in the application form.
Your name will be added to an applicants’ waiting list and you will receive an email from us. The course applications open only one course in advance for the superintensive course i.e. 2 months in advance and for the intensive courses and weekend courses 4 months in advance.

The course applications for May 2020 superintensive courses commence 04th March  2020.
The course applications for May 2020 weekdays’ intensive courses commence 07th January 2020.
The course applications for the May 2020 weekend intensive courses commence 07th January 2020.

 Participants from existing courses have an assured seat in the successive course in continuation.

 At the time of payment the course fees are to be paid by Demand Draft only. The Demand Draft should be addressed to MAX MUELLER BHAVAN PUNE and must be payable in Pune. Misspelt/overwritten/hand corrected demand drafts will not be accepted. No part payment is accepted.

If you are an outstation candidate please send your Demand Draft by Post or courier. You shall receive your receipt by courier.

Placement Test
Through placement tests and interviews, we can determine your level, create learning goals with you, and choose the best course for you.

Please refer to the guidelines regarding Placement tests:

1. Candidates seeking admission to A1 Level at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune are not required to appear for any entrance exam.

2. For candidates who have learnt German previously at Institutes apart from Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan and wish to apply to Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Pune directly for a level higher than A1, are required to clear the respective International Examinations. Kindly refer to the International Examination Schedule.

3. For candidates who have previously appeared for Goethe-Institut examinations please refer to the table below:

4. Registration: Kindly visit the Language Office from Mon – Fri between 10.00 & 16.00 to register for the entrance exams.

5. The entrance exams shall cost INR 1000,- The fees are not refundable & cannot be-transferred to another date.

6. If you do not wish to join the course level indicated by the test and advised by the teacher, you do not need to pay for the admission to the course.

7. The dates for the placement test will be informed by the Language department after enquiry.

8. Each time a candidate appears for an entrance test, the entrance test charges are applicable. The result of the entrance test cannot be carried forward to another course date.
