The evening’s programme journeys seamlessly through a wide variety of music from different genres, from the nostalgic Mohiner Ghoraguli (the first ever Bengali rock band in India) to the scintillating beauty of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Rabindranath Tagore's ever-transient songs along with Beatles rock and ballad unconventional innovation incorporating classical elements. 
 
Kolkata Music Academy was founded by Mr. Abraham Mazumder for music education mainly to promote western classical music in a wider form. KMA was inaugurated on 28th March, 2009 by Late Mr. Russi. H. Mody, the former Chairman and Managing Director of Tata Steel and a leading member of Tata Group. Kolkata Music Academy Chamber Orchestra is one of the finest string ensembles in the city, which is aimed at creating an excellent core of musicians who have given performances over the years. The Academy persues the goal of sharing music in the process of education and performance. KMA also aims to reach out people from all walks of life to spread the joy of music.
