OPEN ONLY TO GERMAN LANGUAGE TEACHERS

(I)         Deutsch und Denken

During the seminar, participants will explore the world of cross-curricular work. By connecting German with Mathematics, Geography, Arts or History, German learners will not only find out how much scientific language is hidden in everyday conversations, but they will also obtain an opportunity to develop their thinking skills and extend their concentration span. The exercises are fun and foster creativity. Students will even be better prepared for job interviews as this kind of content is often used in Assessment Centres in order to find the best candidates.

(II)       Sprechen und Lesen mit Motivation

In this seminar we will look at oral skills. Participants will try out exercises how to teach phonics and pronunciation. They will continue looking at possibilities how to encourage students to communicate in German. The second part of the workshop will look at the development of reading skills in the foreign language. How can pupils be prepared for reading their first books in German? Participants will get to know three books in German that are well usable in the classroom even with beginners. Fun and motivation is at the heart of this session.
