workshop Type Walk with Tanya

This unique look around Kala Ghoda focuses your attention on lettering and type, and encourages you to consider how type - something so ubiquitous that you read it everyday, but don't really 'see' it, can influence human behavior. How does type define an audience? Who goes in and who doesn't?

The tour will be led by Tanya George, a Typographer and Type Designer. Learn how codes are used in type design, which in turn structures our use of the city spaces around us.

Participants are encouraged to use their camera phones and share their experience of the city on the walk using the hashtag #UrbanBlindDate.

This session is inspired by Open Codes. Digital Culture Techniques, a new exhibition which explores the creative usages of codes, the underlying and fundamental principles upon which the contemporary world is built. The Type Walk includes a tour of the exhibition.
