'norway.today' is the fourth and last staged reading of this year’s
German Spotlight series, now in its 4th edition. The play is translated into English from the German version
'norway.today' by
Igor Bauersima and is directed by Bangalore's
Debosmita Dam.
About the show
The play is essentially a conversation between two young people who meet in an online chatroom and discover that their bucket-list item number one is the same - the desire to die.
It presents the last few moments in the life of a 19-year old boy and a 20-year old girl, as they share their perspectives on why nothing life has to offer interests them, and how “living” is never the same as just “existing”. In a world overflowing with possibilities, it is tough to pick just one. So much so, that all choices start to look and feel the same, right up to the point that rejecting one means rejecting them all - and life itself.
