We are proud to join hands with
Modemusic to celebrate their
5th anniversary with some very special guests from Germany at
Over & Out 2019. Over the last five years, Modemusic has created a platform for artists from various parts of the world to showcase their skill to our audience. This in turn has facilitated an exchange of ideas, concepts and culture.
This year's edition of Over & Out features an exclusive
Robert Johnson showcase. The Robert Johnson Club in Frankfurt is the acknowledged Mecca for electronic music!
The showcase will have club & label owner
Ata along with
Orson Wells, one of the youngest residents of the club and
Gerd Janson, a DJ/producer/label owner at the helm of the long running Liquid club night at Robert Johnson.
With a bunch of new releases since the last time we hosted him and some unreleased material,
Lake People brings his live set to the fore. Homegrown champion DJ NIK and head honchos TechNomads join Snad (Smallville Records /Gandu Records) to sum it all up!

Let's face it: there are more DJs in the world than basil leaves in Liguria and they come in all sizes, shapes and colours. Despite the latest developments and modern hotchpotch like laptopdeejaying there still is this almost metaphysical little extra pinch that's so hard to describe and that separates the wheat from the chaff.
And for that Ata is a prime example.
How exactly this man manages to fascinate when stoically spinning records for hours on end, mixing emotion and intention, guiding the crowd is his secret. We may assume it is experience. And experienced he is in nearly all fields related to clubbing: as graphic artist, fashion designer, DJ, label manager and impressario.
When not spinning records, he spends much of his time designing T-shirts or cooking for half the city in his 'Club Michel', a DJ being an entirety of the art of living. Or as he puts it: “I don't know any good DJ who doesn't have his personal style regarding fashion, art and cuisine".
Dear readers, rest assured: Ata has definitely has that style.
Gerd Janson – Running Back

Gerd Janson is one of the most highly respected DJs in the world of house and techno. Quite often, “highly respected” goes hand-in-hand with “underrated” but over the past few years, audiences around the world have also found out what insider types already knew: Janson is a DJ that reconfigures the classics you already knew in an unexpected way – and introduce you to new classics, a few months (or years) before you’ll hear them played everywhere else. Raised just outside of Frankfurt, Janson came to dance music at a young age. He was introduced to techno via a scout leader, who lent him a tape in the early ‘90s made by German techno legend Sven Väth. The region – at that time – was Germany’s most vibrant outpost for the stuff, and he soon fell in love.
In 2013, he was named de:bug’s #2 DJ of the year, as well as being high on the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJ List and #8 in Groove Magazine.
