A conjunction is an event that involves two astronomical bodies seen by an observer on the Earth. It is also a phenomenon of perspective.
What would a reading of the categories of event and site open up for how we observe time and ourselves within the solar system? An eclipse of ideas; of direct observation and experience on one hand; and information and data on the other, Conjunction will explore synchronicities and alignments of time, place and events. The Sun, Moon and Earth become the centre of these circling ideas by turn. Time as imagined and understood through the history of observation becomes simultaneously dynamic and precise.
This essay with readings, sound, video and images, is one part of the Saros 132 project, which explores our planet as a constantly evolving construct, combining the study of what we know, what we imagine, and what we hope for our future on it and with it.
