SCIENCE FILM FESTIVAL: HUMBOLDT AND WEB OF LIFE

India is hosting the Science Film Festival since 1 October till 13 December 2019. The national partner for India will be the National Council for Science Museums (NCSM) through their network of science museums, science centers and auditoriums in many cities. Goethe-Institut will be hosting screenings at various science institutions all over the country in collaboration with NCSM. Each of the screenings will be accompanied by activities and workshops.

In Bangalore there will be screenings at the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum.
The theme of this years festival is Humboldt & the web of life. Alexander von Humboldt revolutionized the conception of nature by defining it as an interconnected living web - and in doing so, inspired countless scientists, environmentalists, writers and artists alike. On the 250 Year Anniversary of Humboldt’s birth, we need such a global perspective more than ever. The Science Film Festival 2019 aims to highlight the relevance of this view in the 21st century in regard to environmentalism, climate change and sustainability.
