Moments Before the Fall is a simulation of ecological conditions generated by numbers and codes. Taking as its starting point, the generation of a cumulonimbus cloud that eventually leads to a cloudburst, the incident is an unfolding of 36 minutes of simulated time expanded into 144 hours in real time.
This project talks about the age of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and how it governs the world today - a natural phenomenon explored through the lens and the brain of a machine.
The software takes numbers and measures to create approximations and estimates of the generation of a cloudburst and the resultant downpour.
Moments Before the Fall is entirely a machine made creation. The world constructed is a result of numerous codes and inputs.
The project has been distributed over a slot of 6 days. Each moment within the simulation is unique and will not repeat itself over the span of the project.
For a period of 6 days, Siddhartha Hall at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan will function as an immersive inverted light box composed of the procedural construction and deconstruction of the cloudburst.
