Corona: (Alltags-) Helden © Maja Goralski

You are sitting at home due to the Corona-crisis?  You wouldn’t mind a little challenge to keep your brain cells active and to practice your German skills? On top of that, you’d love to not just win a price but to even help* those in need at the same time?

For the last couple of weeks, many people have been staying at home, but many are out there and these people do their share by continuing with their work, by helping elderly, poor people, or generally people who are somehow in need. You might know such a person who has become an “Alltagsheld” (everyday life hero) in this current situation and this is your chance to write about such people! So do take part in this writing competition in German!

This is what you need to know about the competition:
- Topic: “Corona: (Alltags-)Helden” / (Corona: (everyday life) hero)
- One entry per person allowed - All entries must be in German
- Categories:
Fiction: Poems (2-5 verses)     or Short stories (maximum 600 words)
Non-fiction: Portraits or reports (each in newspaper-style, each maximum 600 words)
- Competition is open to all
- Prizes to be won (1st till 3rd prize: vouchers for Pagdandi Bookstore Café, Baner)
->*) Additionally, for each 5 entries, 500 Rupees will be donated to the organization “Feeding India” (Feed the daily wager).
- For entering your writing piece into the competition, fill in the attachment and send in in an email with the subject “Alltagshelden” to daadlektorat.sppu@gmail.com
Name the file:
your first name_your last name_Alltagshelden
- deadline: Sunday, 19th of April, 10 pm (Indian standard time)

The competition is organised by Devi, the DAAD lecturer of SPPU, and supported by Maja, the DAAD language assistant of SPPU.

Looking forward to many entries! Have a good day and spread the word  (actually: the PDF and the entry form, not the email ;)) about the competition (and stay indoors!).
