We are pleased to partner with Sandbox Collective on their latest collaborative art project Rest Your Thoughts Here: The Gender Chronicles, a repository of reflections on gender and sexuality.

This collection will exist both as a tangible entity, as well as in the digital space. The former will be sent to you  as a box, equipped with an array of supplies: paint, sketch pens, stickers and most importantly – a journal to chronicle thoughts, stories and experiences. These boxes will travel across Bangalore, picking up stories along the way. The entire collection of final artworks  will be exhibited at Gender Bender festival 2021. The latter will exist as a digital counterpart to this project, with the help of an interactive platform, a MIRO board. This will allow for digital contributions which will remain open, post the launch event. While the physical journal is for Bangalore-based participants only, the Miro board can be accessed by participants from across the world.

Saturday, April 17 2021, will witness the launch of Rest Your Thoughts Here (RYTH), through an interactive online event. Taking a firm step away from the fatiguing online streaming practices, this collaborative event will allow people to contribute to a larger narrative on gender and sexuality. This virtual event leaves room for stories, videos, voice notes and more, ultimately providing a safe space for people to reflect, share their experiences and respond to others with a choice of contributing anonymously.

The launch of The Gender Chronicles will feature music by DJ Fadescha, and a string of quirky anecdotes from a range of people collected by performer and storyteller Sheena Khalid. The evening will feature stories by: Actor and writer Kalki Koechlin, Singer and actor Yamini Das, Transgender artist and activist Kalki Subramaniam, Repertory members from Aagaaz Theatre Jasmine and Nagina, Graphic Designer Kawal Oberoi, Actor Rytasha Rathore and Designer Mrigga
