In association with the Poona Music Society and Alliance Française de Pune, we present to you the Joyce Quarttet and Claire Merlet on the occasion of World Music Day - In a programme of Beethoven: String quintet in C major Op. 29
The Inventio festival is run by violinist Leo Marillier around Paris and this film is from the 2020 edition specially sent to us. This concert takes place in Galleria Continua, which was formerly a paper factory and as a backdrop we see a sculpture titled Cave by Anish Kapoor. Since 2020, was a Beethoven year, the festival programmed this beautiful String quintet Op. 29 by Beethoven.
The Joyce quartet unites four young musicians who graduated from the Paris Conservatory with the highest distinction, the Artist Diploma. They specialize in 20th century and contemporary music, but return to Romantic and classical repertoire as well. The members have received grants from Mécénat Musical Société Générale, Fondation Banque Populaire or Fondation de France. They have appeared in several festivals and are gaining huge popularity with concerts in important halls and festivals.
The concert will be on view on the Facebook page of Goethe-Institut Pune on 21st June 2021 at 18:00 hrs (6 pm) IST.
