The Repair Café

The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata, inspired by the anstiftung Foundation, will set up the first Repair Café in Kolkata once a month in the premises of the library of the Goethe-Institut Kolkata

The Repair Café aims to create a community space where repairers, volunteers and visitors come together to repair everyday items and give things a second chance instead of throwing them away. In the process, ideas are exchanged, hobbies are expanded, sustainability is promoted and a culture of repairing is created over a cup of tea or coffee.

Categories of repair: household appliances, bags, books, clothes, jewellery, shoes and musical instruments.

All are welcome to come with their broken items from the above categories. Feel free to come and spend time in the workshop, get things repaired and pick up some repair skills of your own.
