Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts had the pleasure of hosting a
10-day Light Design and Interactive Stage Technologies workshop led by the acclaimed Swiss artist
Jonathan O’Hear that was facilitated by Attakkalari’s technical division
TransMedia Technologies.
Tech, Set, Go! is the
public showcase by the participants of the workshop and will be presented on Saturday,
November 26, at
6 p.m. at Rangamandala,
in
Attakkalari.
The participants of the workshop were introduced to interactive technologies in a live performance context. They have been experimenting with turning code into a light-show and will continue working with tools and methodologies such as LED interfaces, live projection mapping, sensors, as well as concepts such as video as light.
The dancers of the Certificate Course in Movement Arts and Pedagogy have had the opportunity to work with the dance and media artist
Michael Maurissens, bangaloREsident@Attakkalari. Michael has developed movement material and sequences with the dancers that the participants of the light design workshop could use while developing their light experiments and objects.
