In collaboration with MoonArra, we invite you to Zusammen, a collaborative concert on February 25, 2023 at 7.30 p.m. at the Bhavan.

Zusammen meaning ‘together’ in German is features Germany based drummer Magnus Dauner and MoonArra World Fusion featuring Jagadeesh M.R. on guitars, Madhuri Jagadeesh on vocals, Mythili Anantharaman and Jataveda Banerjee on Indian classical vocals and Joshua Lance on electric bass.

Magnus Dauner will also be performing Konnakol and MoonArra will be performing its original compositions rhythmically and harmonically based on jazz and Indian classical styles and world influences.

Dauner © Cosima Ziesel At the age of 6 Magnus Dauner began to take regular drumming lessons. He gained his first valuable experience at a very young age taking part in music workshops and performing on stage with various bands. Magnus Dauner holds a Diploma of Jazz and Education of 'Hochschule für Musik und Theater' Munich and is several times prize winner of the 'Jugend jazzt' music competition.

An extremely versatile style of drumming makes Magnus first the choice for artists throughout all genres like jazz, world music, pop, funk and hiphop. His ability of playing various percussion instruments as well as the Drum Set and his experience in all styles of music give his musical playing a unique and special touch. 

Since 2015 Magnus Dauner is studying Konnakol and Mridangam at the Karnataka College of Percussion in Bangalore/India with Mridangam Vidwan T.A.S. Mani. Magnus is an asked lecturer for rhythm and drums all over Germany.  Over the years Magnus has performed in China, India, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Italy, Norway, Chile, Slovakia, Spain, England and France.

Jagdeesh-Madhuri © MoonArra Founded by Bangalore based guitarist and composer Jagadeesh Ramanujam Mudambi and Vocalist songwriter Madhuri Jagadeesh, MoonArra meaning 'three streams'  was formed in 2006 as a fusion of the interaction and collective influences of Indian Classical, Jazz and World Music Influences of its core members. MoonArra’s mission has always been to collaborate and connect with musicians and audiences worldwide, bringing the message of peace and harmony, goodwill and tolerance in today’s environment.

MoonArra has performed internationally in significant jazz festivals and concerts overseas across Asia, Arica and Europe.  MoonArra is currently working on its collaborative album titled 'Maanush' and has already released its first single – its own version of American singer-songwriter Sara K’s classic 'If I Could Sing Your Blues' online on all streaming platforms. MoonArra is also working on a production titled 'Music of The Moonflowers – An Indian Opera'.

MoonArra has had 9 international overseas concert performance tours since 2009.
