Simon Verhoeven is a director, screenwriter and actor. He studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and film directing at the Tisch School of Arts in New York. As an actor, he has worked with directors such as Sönke Wortmann, Doris Dörrie and Roland Suso Richter.
For his film Männerherzen, Simon Verhoeven was awarded the Bavarian Film Prize 2009 for Best Screenplay. For Männerherzen 2, Simon Verhoeven was awarded Germany's biggest media prize, the Bambi, for best film nationally. Welcome to the Hartmanns was released in November 2016 and reached three million viewers in Germany by the end of the year.
