Berlin-based feminist performance collective She She Pop comes to Gender Bender 2024.
She She Pop (SSP) has worked in the Independent performance space for over 30 years. They are one of the most loved and respected theatre collectives in Europe, best known for their innovative staging and for the topics and themes they bring to stage.
Members of SSP will share excerpts from their 3-decade-long practice of performing, experimenting, and mischief-making. They will respond to both the words ‘Feminist’ and ‘Collective’, offering ways in which cultural work can continue in a world that validates and promotes “proper”, “normative” and “serious”. The discussion will focus on three decades of creating work and what happens if (when) things go wrong.
The talk will be followed by a conversation with Nimi Ravindran and Shiva Pathak from Sandbox Collective, on what it means to nurture spaces of joy, assertion and founderings.
