A devised performance by National School of Drama (NSD) final year students & Sophia Stepf
What is a nation? Who belongs and who doesn't? Where are its borders and what does an astronaut think when s_he looks at earth from space? 'Alienation Effect' is a phrase coined by Berthold Brecht, a theatre technique of alienating the familiar in order to see it from an (objective) distance. Nationalism, patriotism, secularism are complicated words today. Is there a neutral perspective? How to take a stand without being left or right? What defines our identity? The more we ask these questions, the more complex it gets. And ignorance is not at all a bliss.
Come and witness the inquisitive dilemma of National School of Drama
(NSD) final year theatre students: Alie_n_ation
will be gentle and bold, minimalistic and passionate and will go where no astronaut has gone before.
