India is undergoing a dramatic urban transformation. This process of urbanization is accelerating because of many factors and population growth in the country will be in the smaller cities. Housing is intrinsically linked to urbanization as it comprises the largest component of any urban form. 
The exhibition brings forth the questions on the role of architects/planners today in shaping the housing landscape for a more sustainable and inclusive urban development in India going forward.

Ravi Sundaram is a professor at the Centre for the Study pf Developing Societies (CSDS), Delhi. Presently, he is the co-editor of the Sarai programme and has co-edited the critically acclaimed Sarai Reader series. Sundaram has looked at the phenomenon that he calls 'pirate modernity', an illicit form of urbanism that draws from media and technological infrastructures of the postcolonial city.
