Digital Learning lecture series

The purpose of this lecture is to educate participants about career opportunities in the video games industry. To that effect, this talk will focus on 3 key topics. It will begin with a discussion on the state of the video games industry globally and in India. Secondly, it will break down the various kinds of job verticals and describe the nature of work commonly seen in each fields. Finally, this talk will provide a skill development roadmap for students across education streams, who have a desire to make a career in video games.
 

Speaker Description

Shagun Shah © Shagun Shah Shagun Shah is a game designer and writer. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in video game development, gamification design, digital marketing, and content creation. He is deeply passionate about creating avenues for education in design, and has actualised this by variously conducting courses in video game production and management, and by designing the course curriculum for game development programs at a variety of film and media institutions.
 
As an industry professional, he is well versed with both AAA and independent game design, having worked at studios on either side of the fence.

In the past, Shagun has spent time as media researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he has published researched on the subject of player behaviour in online games. He is a regular speaker and curator at the Nasscom Game Developer Conference where he runs workshops on creativity and innovation in game creation.
