Storytelling - Modes of Knowledge Transfer 
Oral storytelling session with the traditional shadow puppeteers Gunduraju Ji and Anurupa Roy

Leather shadow puppeteer Gunduraju is an 8th generation puppeteer storyteller. He will take the audience through the Sagara Manthan (Churning of the Ocean of Milk) story with references to versions of the Ramayana and Mahabharata only told in his oral tradition using his puppets.

Opening Presentation by the creative director Mika Johnson

In this session, Infinite Library's creative director Mika Johnson will speak about the concept behind The Infinite Library, the artistic process and the chances of Virtual Reality for storytelling.

Uniting Past, Present & Future – Oral tradition & Tech 
The shadow puppet form of India and modern interpretations as animation projections with Dr. Atul Sinha and Anurupa Roy

This talk will focus on the leather shadow puppet traditions of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh which are different from the Karnataka form in aesthetic and narrative contexts. The two speakers will include their own journeys with traditional leather puppets as experienced through their research and collaborations with traditional puppeteers in the performances and projects.

Filmmakers in conversation: Shankhajeet De and Mika Johnson; Moderation: Anurupa Roy 
Screening of "In the Shadow of Time" (2017) by Shankhajeet De


This session explores the journey of the documenter of intangible heritages like oral narratives and their holders. Shankhajeet De and Mika Johnson’s conversation will enable the audience to explore the lens of the documenter and how this lens affects our collective memories of oral traditions and eventually cultural policy.
