Night of Theatre is an international night-long festival of contemporary, performing and collaborative arts curated by Trimukhi Platform and presented annually at Trimukhi Cultural Centre in Borotalpada Santhal village, West Medinipur, West Bengal.
The 2023 programme involves around fifty Santhal performers from the village with a solo dance and a trio directed by French-Senegalese Amala Dianor, an open-air exhibition by visual artist Sumantra Mukherjee, a dance-theatre performance in memory of Jean-Luc Godard, a video art installation directed by Jean-Frédéric Chevallier and Sukla Bar, a sound art piece in memory of the Ex-Pro Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, Late Professor Samantak Das designed by the Canadian artist André Éric Létourneau and introduced by Nikhilesh Bhattacharya, a series of Santhal dances selected by Falguni Hansda and Molina Soren, a conversation with the artists about theatre and community moderated by Justin MacCarty from Ashoka University and a midnight dinner followed by a multicultural dance party.
