PEOPLE OF AMMAN: Portrait photography workshop
Portrait is a representation of a person, in which the face and its expressions are predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality and even the mood of the person. For this reason, in photography a portrait is generally not a snapshot, but a composed image of a person in a still position.
Within the framework of the 10th edition of Image Festival Amman 2022, Darat Al Tasweer and Goethe-Institut Jordan organize a photography workshop conducted by photographer Heinrich Völkel.
The 5-day workshop will introduce the participants to the various forms of portraiture in photography and the various uses as applied and artistic form of expression. Beyond conceptual thinking in creating a series of portraits, the participants will be learning about different technical aspects of this form of photography.
„People of Amman“ is aimed at beginners and advanced photographers, willing to create for themselves and as a group a piece of work, which will represent the individuals living in Amman.
Following the workshop, the participants’ resulting work will be showcased in an exhibition at Dialogpunkt in Jabal Amman. This exhibition will show this approach in appalling and innovative pictures.
