The Temple Mount in Jerusalem for Three Abrahamic Religions

Peace Osaka Opening Day: Peace Project Syposium

As citizens, it is important for us to realize our responsibility for peace and carry it with us in our daily lives. In order to achieve this, we must also understand the collective memory of wars and conflicts. Abrahamic religions, such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, have intersected with some of the terrors and conflicts in the world. To address these religio-political issues, it is important to have a basic knowledge of religion. The symposium will explore how we can contribute to peacebuilding by examining the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, which is a sacred site for three Abrahamic religions and has been a source of conflict. We will also discuss the issues of politics, religion, and war in Japan's modern history to reflect on our own responsibility.
