Iris Helena Hamers studied Fine Arts at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK Hamburg) and SUNY Purchase, New York. She works with digital, algorithmic, and synthetic imagery, transforming it into spatial objects and installations.
Her work has been presented at institutions and galleries including EIGEN+ART Lab, Berlin (2026), Art Düsseldorf – Sculpture Spot (2026), PAW, Karlsruhe/Düsseldorf (2026/2023), Galerie Kai Erdmann, Berlin (2025, solo exhibition), Galerie Stadt Sindelfingen (2025, solo exhibition), Künstlerverein Malkasten, Düsseldorf (2025, solo exhibition), the Capsule Program at Luxembourg Art Week (2024), and the Wassaic Project, New York (2022).
During her residency in Kyoto, she intends to explore Japanese perspectives on contemporary media culture, animism, and techno-animism, as well as local analogue photomechanical printing techniques and the ways in which digital images acquire physical presence through artisanal processes.
