Film TEN CITIES Screening Series: Dancehall Queen

In July, the TEN CITIES Screening Series crosses the Atlantic ocean and travels back in time to 1990’s Kingston, Jamaica: the feature film of the evening is Dancehall Queen (1997 / 98 min) by Rick Elgood and Don Letts. Main character, Marcia is a single mom and street vendor, struggling to raise two daughters. Facing financial problems and other threats, Marcia arrives at an inspired solution: develop an alter ego, a dancing celebrity.

The TEN CITIES Screening Series shows numerous feature films and documentaries, focusing on different aspects of club and sub-culture around the globe on a monthly basis.
