Dance NAIROBI FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE AND MEDIA ARTS (NFMPA)
The 3rd edition of the Nairobi Festival of Performance and Media Arts examines contemporary, cross-genre productions of movement in dance, with music, film and design. In order to heighten the role of dance in the Kenyan arts scene, the platform initiates contact for dancers, choreographers and performers with different media forms through processes of experimentation, intensive workshops and discussion.
This year’s contacts will be visually expressed through an adapted theme called ‘the color peace’. The festival aims to enable intersection of dance, fashion, poetry, music and film which will result in new interactions and performances for public audiences. This approach will appeal to new segments of the public as well as introduce dance to other media audiences.
