Shorts on Wheels Nairobi © Goethe-Institut

29 January 2017

Diverse Locations

Imagine a nice, sunny Sunday afternoon, people from the city who have an interest in movies and bicycles are coming together and go on a bike tour throughout the million metropolis Nairobi. The tour stops at different locations in Nairobi so that the participants can watch short movies together. This year’s topic is “The politics of home, belonging and identity”. Focusing on the collective interest of bicycling and watching in an urban setting, the ecological aspect also implements an important role in this event.

The program is organised and curated by the Goethe-Institut Kenya, Mbithi Masya and Sheba Hirst. Additional support is provided by Baiskeli AdventuresCritical Mass Nairobi and The BUS.

The bicycle tour will start at the Goethe-Institut Nairobi, afterwards we will head over to PAWA 254 and The Elephant. Our tour ends at The Alchemist in Westlands. A bus will be hired to bring back the rented bikes from The Alchemist to the Baiskeli Adventures Headquarters in the CBD.
