Boma La Bua’ is derived from the idea of a Home of Expression. This year’s
Boma La Bua is named after Bua’s first E.P (called
Imwe) to be launched on the same day! The theme is drawn from Inception or Mind - the first step in the three steps of creation. A lot at the moment is not the way it is meant to be. So this event, in a sense, is meant to return audiences to the beginning - to the beautiful, the ugly, and the true - to harmony. Returning them to their roots as Africans through the music, returning them to their spirits through the visual arts and returning them to their centres through the fusion of it all.
