Announcement of participants
The “Asian Composers Showcase”, a project organized by the Goethe-Institut together with Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF) for promoting new musical compositions, is taking place for the eighth time. Composers from the region of Northeast Asia could apply to an “Open Call for Scores”. A five-member commission met in Kyoto on 10 December 2019 to select five outstanding pieces from 68 submissions. By the end of the meeting, Toshio Hosokawa, Lin Fang-yi, Hyo Jee Kang, William Lane, Florian Riem (Chairman), selected the following participants, whose pieces will be performed on 4 April 2020 by Ensemble TIMF as part of the “Asian Composers Showcase 2020” in Tongyeong.
