Announcement of participants
The “Asian Composers Showcase”, a project organized by the Goethe-Institut together with Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF) for promoting new musical compositions, is taking place for the seventh time. Composers from the region of Northeast Asia could apply to an “Open Call for Scores”. A five-member commission met in Munich on 29 November 2018 to select five outstanding pieces from over sixty submissions. By the end of the meeting, the composers Eun-Hwa Cho and Cord Meijering, the violinist , Jeongmin Kim, as well as music manager Michael Fine and Florian Riem (Chairman), selected the following participants, whose pieces will be performed on 6 April 2019 by Hong Kong New Music Ensemble (Dirigent: Lio Kuokman) as part of the “Asian Composers Showcase 2019” in Tongyeong.
