of the Asian Composers Showcase
The Asian Composers Showcase provides a platform for composers from Asia.
The compositions that are commissioned as part of the Showcase are written for a chamber ensemble and have a duration of 15 to 20 minutes. Up to nine instruments may be used, which this year may also include one instrument of the family of traditional Asian double reed wind instruments (Korean piri, Chinese guan, Japanese hichiriki etc.). The four compositions will be premiered at the Tongyeong International Music Festival on 3 April 2017.
Here you can find short biographies of the participating composers and short statements on their works.
