“Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” at World Cultures 2014
Place: Art Sonje Center (Seoul, South Korea)

In cooperation with the Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS), “Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” was presented at the Art Sonje gallery in Bukchon, a traditional neighborhood of Seoul. The event was part of the World Cultures 2014 festival.

Goethe-Institut Hongkong has invited “Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” to its second event outside Korea: this time the game will visit the Fringe Club in the East Asian megacity.

“Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” in the National Theater of Korea
Place: National Theater of Korea (Seoul, South Korea)
Date and Time: 21 and 22 September 2014, 7 p.m.
At the end of September 2014, “Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” was installed in the lobby of the National Theater of Korea in the shadow of Mount Namsan. The National Theater of Korea had already staged “Faust” four times in the last 60 years. For two days, more than two hundred players experienced a completely new approach to the iconic German drama.

“Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” at the A Maze Festival 2014

The first event outside Korea took "Being Faust – Enter Mephisto” to the A Maze Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa. During a total of six shows, visitors had the chance to immerse themselves in the German-Korean Faust game.

This time the venue was the Seoul Metropolitan Library, flagship of the Korean capital's public libraries. It is located in the former city hall, right in the heart of the city. 100 participants and invited guests delved into the world of MEPHISTO&co..

Sneak Preview II

Sneak Preview I

On 30 May 2014, the time had come: a hand-picked group were invited to be the first to test the “big game” “Being Faust – Enter Mephisto”, which was developed by Goethe-Institut Korea and Nolgong. A mid-night session at the Gangnam branch of the Kyobo Bookstore proved to be the perfect setting for the game.
