What has happened at the IDEAS BOX so far?

Since 2017, children and young people drew comic strips, produced short films, wrote and rehearsed plays, and more all at the IDEAS BOX. During a photography workshop using pinhole camera techniques, the IDEAS BOX space was transformed into a darkroom. And together with workshop attendees, the artist Stine Marie Jacobsen built cameras with magical powers, in order to raise children’s awareness of the media’s abuse of privacy and individuals’ rights regarding their own photographic image.

In December 2017, the results of the workshops were presented in the Goethe-Institut in the exhibition WHOSE IDEA IS IT?. The exhibition displayed ideas and stories of children and young people from Syria and Lebanon, showing their own unique and genuine ways of thinking ‘outside the box’.
