Humanity & Earth Photo Project

The photo project Humanity & Earth enabled young Sri Lankan photographers to concentrate on the relationship between humans and earth. The photographic documentation of ecological focal points in Sri Lanka and their aesthetic presentation were the thematic key elements.

Together with the two mentors, Andy Spyra, well-known for his outstanding stories dealing with conflict situations and Liz Fernando, a German Sri Lankan concept photographer, the participants developed various techniques and conceptual approaches to use the lenses of their cameras to tell stories that are based on ecological weak spots and make aware of sustainability-relevant topics in Sri Lanka. The project's results were showcased in the The ‘Humanity & Earth’ photography exhibition that took place in September 2020.
