Workshop GLOBAL MUSIC ACADEMY CAMPUS
A pilot Global Music Campus will take place at the Sri Pada College from August 10 to 20, 2017. The participants come from both Pakistan and Sri Lanka, countries whose music traditions have many resemblances and the same roots. This pilot campus aims to explore how modern concepts of teaching can be implemented, so that musicians may express themselves creatively by combining the modern and traditional instruments and elements. The campus also opens opportunities for the different communities to come together and explore their common musical heritage in order to further a climate of reconciliation and understanding. The project is enabled by the Goethe-Institut, the Global Music Academy and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education.
