Colombo’s multidisciplinary contemporary arts festival returns for its fifth edition to celebrate local and international art foregrounding the environment.
 
Taking place from the 2 - 7 September 2017, Cinnamon Colomboscope celebrates 7 days of curated visual and performing arts with an extensive programme of outreach initiatives, talks exploring environmentalism and its intersections, film screenings and more. It aims to mobilize communities in Colombo to engage and interact with thought provoking creative processes. Over 50 local artists and international artists from Bangladesh, France, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom will participate in the festival.
 
The Goethe-Institut supports the local festival team in organizing and curating the festival and enables two German artists to take part in it. Eva Horn, professor of modern literature currently working on a cultural theory of climate and Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky, who uses the medium of photography to explore the meeting point between nature and culture.
