Senthuran Varatharajah, born 1984 in Sri Lanka, studied philosphy, protestant theology and cultural studies in Marburg, Berlin and London. In spring 2016 his first novel »Vor der Zunahme der Zeichen« appeared, a fictional Facebook-conversation of two students, whose ethnic backgrounds are not German. Varatharajah was particularly praised for his philosophical look at the correlation between migration and language.
