The children’s and youthbooks author Claudia Kühn was born in East Berlin in 1969. She completed her German literature studies and cultural studies at the Humboldt University. Since then Mrs. Kühn is working as a freelance author. Among others the book series Türkisch für Anfänger, after the series of the same name, the youth book Elfmeter für Nelly (2011) and the novel Banklady (2013) originate from her pen. She works a lot with children and teenagers, but also offers coaching for illustrators.
Claudia Kühn will read excerpts from her latest published book Strom auf der Tapete, which she wrote with Ada Badey. This book was honored with the famous Peter-Härtling Prize, a children’s and youthbook’s award. The critics especially praised the “pleasant non-conformist characters”, as well as the “snotty, as poetic, often uproarious language” (Eselsohr of the month march 2017).
Afterwards she will conduct a workshop, where the language students can try to write their own little stories.
