Featuring interactive audio-visual installations, musical performances and mixed-media art, Sub_Seqeunce will transform the grimy cinema halls, corridors, swimming pool and derelict rooms of the partially-abandoned Rio Cinema & Hotel complex into a melting pot of interdisciplinary artistic collaborations waiting to be explored and experienced.
The core installations and projections will be conceptualized and created by the Visual Lab team consisting of VJ Zombie (India), Rahema Zaheer (Pakistan), Studio Moebius (India), Lalindra Amarasekera (Sri Lanka), Sanjaya Gunawaradana, and Nigel Perera (Sri Lanka). The showcase will feature sound art, musical performances and audio content by Asvajit, Nigel Perera, Kinesthetics 02000, Isuru Kumarasinghe and Dinelka Liyanage. Additional animation, illustration and visual content by Roo Amarasinghe, Firi Rahman, Kavan Balasuriya, Nigel Perera and Muvindu Binoy and Narni Studios. Also featuring spontaneous bodily interventions by the dancers, performance artists and theatre practitioners from the Choreography Camp Kalpittiya 2018.
