Dancers and choreographers already engaged or having a desire to work with contemporary and experimental work in Sri Lanka will participate in an intensive Choreography Lab from the 7 - 13th of October.
Following on from the two highly successful choreography camps in Kalpitiya, this non- residential edition will take place in Colombo and close with a public sharing. Two international choreographers will offer practical and creative tools for choreography. Maria Colusi from Berlin will focus on instant composition, articulating the body in time and space and Preethi Athreya from Chennai will work with intention, presence, text and imagination.
Along with local artist Venuri Perera, they will provide individual mentoring to selected participants on works in progress. Local experts in related fields like Visual arts, Dramaturgy, curation are also invited for short sessions to allow for the participant to widen their perspectives.
