Colomboscope extends programme initiatives during 2019-2020 in collaboration with Fold Media Collective and EUNIC Sri Lanka to present a two-day residential workshop for visual artists and contemporary cultural practitioners. Leading up to the 2021 festival edition Colomboscope will hold a wide range of initiatives including workshops, tandem residencies, performances and spoken word acts across different locations in Sri Lanka.
Re-Tooling Workshop #1: Hacking the System invites visual artists and contemporary cultural practitioners to attend sessions that focus on practical knowledge sharing related to contemporary art and navigating exhibition platforms. Sessions will be conducted by the Colomboscope team and members of Fold Media Collective, including (1) Terms & Conditions addressing aspects such as collaborative models, artist fees, loan conditions and technical production (2) Spatial Practice looking into drafting floor plans, sustainable solutions in exhibition design and general elements of installation setting (3) Print Forms opening up a discussion around self-publishing artist books and zines as well as early pragmatics of catalogue design.
