Pride 2022
The 5th Annual Pride Speech will be held on the 11th of June, 2022 at the Equality Shelter tent in GotaGoGama.
The pride speech is one of the most important events of commemorating Pride Month in Sri Lanka, organized by the Community Welfare and Development Fund (CWDF). Along with the overall theme #WeResistTogether this year’s speech will be around the topic of pride and resistance. The LGBTIQ activists Chanu Nimesha, Anuhas Sandaru and Tania Pillai have been invited to the panel to spark dialogue on sexual and gender justice activism and LGBTIQA+ activism in Sri Lanka. Neranjan Maddumage will be moderating the event. Join in for the discussion, a chat or listen.
The event is organized by Community Welfare and Development Fund, Jaffna Sangam Tamil Speaking LGBTIQA+ Network of Sri Lanka, Anichcham Eastern Queer Collective, Chathra LGBTIQA+ Network of Sri Lanka und Women and Trans Initiative of Sri Lanka organisiert. The Goethe-Institut Sri Lanka is the official cultural partner.
